1964
After graduating  from Bombay University in 1948, DR.VINOD.G.DAFTARY acquired a Doctorate in  Pathology and Bacteriology from Grant Medical College, Mumbai and then proceeded to  the United States -  Walter Reed Hospital (Washington D.C ) for further studies. He was the first to establish India’s first Blood Bank (Blood Center) and then started making Diagnostic Test Kits for Pathological Laboratory use. He founded Bharat Laboratories in the year 1964 for this purpose.

1972
In 1972 Dr. Vinod Daftary floated a new company, BHARAT SERUMS & VACCINES LTD., which was formed from Bharat Laboratories, marking an end of the latter. The concept of blood component therapy was introduced in this country by BSVL and hence the selective use of blood components and plasma derivatives were locally manufactured and sold in the Indian market and abroad as well.

1991
Advy Chemical was established to cater to BSVL’s growing expertise in the diagnostic area. Advy began with the manufacturing of polyclonal anti-human antibodies from goats and purification of human proteins from natural sources, to render a cost effective range of immunodiagnostic reagents to In Vitro Diagnostic companies worldwide. Today, antisera and antigens form the core of Advy Chemical’s business model. 

1996
India’s first GCP conforming clinical research organization (CRO), Siro Clinpharm Private Limited, was established.

2003
BSVL commissioned its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for life saving injectables at Ambernath, on the outskirts of Mumbai. The Ambernath facility is WHO-GMP approved and has been constructed as per the UK MCA guidelines.

2004
Siro Clinpharm Private Limited collaborated with the COVANCE (United States), one of the largest multinational CROs. 

2005
BSVL and Zydus Cadila set up 50:50 JVC to develop, manufacture and market oncology injectable drugs.

2008
Siro Clinpharm Private Limited acquires Omega Mediation, a leading, midsized, European CRO with its headquarters in Germany.
